folded like an umbrella your body springs open as your nurse approaches your bed you stab her in the eye she wraps your fingers in a blanket to protect her face while she does the caring she feeds you through a tube in your belly she turns you over on your side and changes the sheets you clutch her sleeve she peels you off and says you have a visitor it's your daughter with flowers and a briefcase your daughter who kisses your cheek and says mama mama mama can't you hear me you purse your lips and make sucking sounds |
