By day (well, and sometimes by night)I am a patent, trademark and copyright attorney specializing in Biotech and software patents. I've also done some patent work for theoretical physics-type inventions, but the math is way beyond me.

In my former life (a few years ago) I worked as a research scientist in the areas of molecular biology and genetics. I was even able to do some gene cloning at one point, which is a remarkably dull process despite how cool the idea of it is.

I write in the Sci-Fi and Fantasy genres, primarily, but also dabble in Legal drama. I have sold one story to a semi-professional market, and another to a professional market. I've also published some work in the scientific literature, primarily explaining aspects of science to a lay audience, and I write a bi-monthly legal column and am a former member of the editorial staff of the Missouri Law Review.
