About “Sophia”

*Sophia is a handle I use sometimes. Some of the writing that I do about various animal issues involves mentioning some of the less than desirable elements in society. These convicted animal abusers sometimes try to contact me to protest my writing or to offer personal threats… Hence, my use of handles.

I have been a published freelance Writer since 1997 specializing in non-fiction topics ranging from model trains to genealogy to dogs. Also writes “humor with an edge” pieces. But to be absolutely correct, I had a piece of poetry published when I was a junior in high school many many years ago.

Writes a weekly and semi-weekly column on various pet issues. Columns range from general education type articles to commentary style articles on issues in current events facing the average pet owner. Occasionally writes short humorous pet pieces. Pet articles have been published in e-zines and in newsletters produced by animal humane associations.

Published writer since 1997 in several model train magazines.

Editor of two newsletters, one for a non-profit railway society, and one dog breed newsletter.

Published author of 3 genealogy books.

Numerous non-fiction animal proposals and manuscripts are available for review if you know of an editor who might be interested! Also, one humor and one fiction manuscript are in the works as well.
